This project, located in the Hollywood Hills, involved the renovation of and additions to a 1933 Spanish Colonial Revival residence. The work included the design of a new guesthouse, a new courtyard and fountain and new landscaping. The special challenge of this project was to restore the home to its original condition while upgrading the property in such a manner that it appears to be part of the original design. Especially challenging was the incorporation of a 1950s kidney shaped pool into a Spanish/Mediterranean garden scheme. Additions were made that maintained and enhanced the original level of detail with the use of beamed and vaulted ceilings and extensive use of the custom designed tile.
