Jury Comments:
The building honors its campus as it reinforces its major axis with a strong, light-filled atrium typology. Its simple dignity is poignant and appropriate for its essential civic purpose.

This facility provides dining seating for 420 students together with 5 private dining rooms for meetings and conference dining settings. The Servery is an open “Mediterranean market” atmosphere to showcase display cooking for custom service and variety of many stations. The building is respectful of the vocabulary of materials and symmetry of proportions set by the earlier buildings designed by Edward Durrell Stone.  The plan features an atrium dining room in the center with a high ceiling, skylights and is surrounded by a concourse for student circulation to other dining areas, servery and services.
