DISCOVERING THE SITE | ENVISIONING THE PROJECT
Providing housing for low and moderate income people is one of the most important tasks facing the State of California and, in so doing, also great neighborhoods that foster community. Las Palmas de Sal Gonzalez, Sr. Apartments is part of the solution in building that future.
Identifying a suitable site took time, and a location about 20 minutes outside of downtown Fresno proved the best option even in light of site-specific code-requirements for off-site street improvements and landscaped components – consisting of enhanced walking paths and sidewalks, bike paths east and west, improved crosswalks for safety, and new street lighting – to border the commercial corridor of Kings Canyon Boulevard. To the south, the site is directly adjacent to an elementary school, making the project ideal for families with school-aged children.
