Boys Republic Max Scott Culinary Arts Center
(# 812)
Images Description Credits
Boys Republic is a private, not-for-profit, all-boys high school that has been providing academic and vocational training programs, rehabilitation, and counseling services for its at-risk student community since 1907. The new Max Scott Culinary Arts Center at the heart of the Chino Hills campus is a future-forward facility that fulfills educational needs while also reflecting the legacy of the organization.

Reminiscent of architect Myron Huntís original Dining Hall built in 1926, the design blends inspiration from his signature Prairie School philosophy and the Arts and Crafts Movement into a unified theme of nature as ornament. This project promotes two design concepts: restoration of the Dining Facility to marry Huntís concept of craft with Boys Republicís traditions, and integration of the new Bistro and Teaching Kitchen into a modern architectural expression to reflect 21st Century learning and provide students a state-of-the-art culinary center.
